Star's SP542 is the auto-cut version of the SP500 series of high speed, low cost dot matrix receipt printers. The Star SP500 series offers many features only found in more expensive printers. Dip switch configurating allows switching to Epson emulation, and reverse printing rather than two-color printing support is also included.

The SP500 series also features recessed cable connections to keep dirt and debris away from the sensitive connection ports. These recessed connections also greatly reduce the risk of cables being tampered with or accidentally unplugged. The SP500 also comes with Star's 3 year warranty and comes in black or off-white color.

The SP542 is equipped with a autocutter. If your point of sale software does not support an auto cutter, than the SP512 is the model for you.

Includes internal universal power supply and ribbon.
